The purpose of this note is to provide you the information necessary for you to access the United Nations to participate in Africa Open for Business: Global Partnerships for Trade and Investment with Africa, on the occasion of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. WHAT TO BRING

  • Government or United Nations issued photo identification, such as a passport, driver’s license, or United Nations Grounds Pass.

ACCESSING THE UNITED NATIONS

A United Nations Special Event Ticket (SET) is required to access the United Nations Headquarters.

SETs will be available for pick up at the Permanent Mission of Nigeria to the United Nations located at 828 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10017 beginning at 07:30 (7:30am) New York time (GMT -4) on Friday, 26 September 2025.

In order to obtain your SET, please present your Government or United Nations issued photo identification to a Event representative outside the Permanent Mission of Nigeria to the United Nations. Please be aware that SETs will only be issued upon verification of your identity, and that you may be denied entry into United Nations grounds if the name on your government issued photo identification does not match the name on your SET.

The Event will begin promptly at 10:00 (10:00am) New York time (GMT -4). Therefore, we strongly suggest picking up your SET as early as possible, and allowing yourself at least one hour to clear United Nations Security.

TRANSPORTATION

You are responsible for making your own transportation arrangements to and from the Event.

Information about transportation from the 3 major airports serving New York City can be found online at the Port Authority website or by calling Air-Ride at +1 800 247 7433 (toll free number within the United States). Uber, Lyft and Yellow Taxis can pick you up from the airport and bring you directly to your hotel or to the United Nations Headquarters. Airport buses are readily available from the airports to Grand Central Station, which is walking distance to the United Nations Headquarters and can be booked online in advance.

FACILITIES

Restaurants, ATMs, the UN emergency medical service and Postal Services are all available in the United Nations Headquarters.
